Morning Dew

Does the earth need more soul like mine?

Look at the flowers of the dawn
How do they make you smile?
Don’t you see the droplets,
Dripping,
Tracing their lengths?
They weep in unison
The night through
Mourning not the souls
But the shattered dreams
And frustrations
Disappointments
And subdued rebellion

You say foolishly,
“How beautiful are they!”
Wipe your so opaque eyes…
It’s not the sunrise in their tears
But sadness through the years

When my veins underneath,
And their roots interlink
I hear them sob softly from disbelief
Anytime the flesh could perish
They could only wish I’d done more
What I should’ve

Until I am fulfilled,
I cannot submit myself to the earth
Only to magnify the irrevocable sadness
That even the wildest of winds
Could never erase
